What the Building Team Does

The building team adapts the framework for the students and grade bands it serves.

The building team uses the domain guides to identify what students should experience, what adults should do, what the building will implement, what evidence will be reviewed, and what support may be needed from the district.

Building focus: the work should strengthen current instruction, advising, support routines, and student experiences. Buildings should begin with a manageable focus rather than trying to implement every domain at once.

Use these steps to move from framework to implementation.

Step 1

Review the framework and launch direction

Make sure the team understands the district's purpose, initial focus, and expectations for building implementation.

Step 2

Choose the relevant domain guide

Select the domain or domains connected to the district's launch focus and the building's current needs.

Step 3

Focus on the grade bands served

Use the guide sections that match the students in the building, such as K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-10, or 11-12.

Step 4

Plan practical implementation

Identify first actions, examples to adapt, adult practices, evidence to review, owners, and support needed.

Step 5

Submit the quarterly update

Summarize what was implemented, what evidence was reviewed, what changed, what barriers remain, and what district support is needed.
